Meet Your Therapist
Hi! I’m Claudette, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, born and raised in Austin, Texas. My counseling journey began while playing on the Women’s NCAA Soccer Team at Texas A&M University, where I discovered a passion for supporting others through difficult seasons. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and have been practicing therapy for five years. It is incredibly meaningful to be serving the same Austin community that helped shape me.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, reading with my cat nearby, hosting game nights, going on walks, playing cozy video games, and rewatching favorite comfort shows and movies. Now that I am a mom to my sweet baby girl, with another on the way, I also try to cherish each given moment with my family (most of which is spent in a playpen).
My Approach
I strive to create a safe, empathetic, and authentic environment where clients feel supported and understood. Part of my approach involves the use of humor to build rapport and disarm the natural anxiety of engaging in heavier topics. My goal is to equip clients with tools to use their strengths, cope effectively, reframe thoughts healthily, and confidently express their needs and boundaries, emphasizing a strong therapeutic relationship.
My faith deeply influences the way I care for others. I believe God brings hope, restoration, and healing, even in difficult seasons, and I seek to offer unconditional compassion, grace, and care to every client who walks through my door.
In my sessions, I will draw from a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems, and Bowen Family Systems. I am also specifically trained in DBT and Prepare & Enrich Premarital Counseling. Through the use of these eclectic techniques, I hope to best meet your individual client needs.
